Overcoming Distractions When We’re Writing
Here’s my main distraction when writing!

From back to front: Charlie, Buddy and Lexie. They seem to think (I’m sure every cat owner will agree) that they can interrupt at their leisure and have a divine right to step on my keyboard and create a sentence of their own – which usually reads something like: sropgiry]ohd; ,x;lire6090pntsh!
More often than not I resort to bribery, in the form of Dreamies, those crunchy little treats that every feline seems to love, to keep them away from my desk. Closing the door of my study is an absolute non-starter. Eventually they’ll get bored and go and have a nap on the bed. Experts tell us cats sleep for up to 17 hours a day – I beg to differ!
I’m sure we all have to overcome distractions when perfecting our art – please share yours.
