Music Stars in Kent
I hope everyone had a good weekend. This week I am sharing three music videos that were filmed here in Kent.
First up is MIKA – Excuses for Love – which was filmed this year on the Dungeness Estate and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. I have been on this railway a couple of times and I love it.
The steam train travels from Hythe to Dungeness, calling at Dymchurch, St. Mary’s Bay, New Romney and Romney Sands along the beautiful Kent coast. The total distance is 13.5 miles. You can read more about the railway here.
Ed Sheeran – Eyes Closed (Piano and Strings Version) – this was filmed in 2023 in the Tarred Yarn Store at The Historic Dockyard, Chatham.
The Dockyard boasts 400 years of heritage across 80 acres and you can explore HM Submarine Ocelot, plus HMS Gannet and HMS Cavalier. They also have over 70,000 objects to view, and also a library and reading room. You can also watch master ropemakers at work.

Robbie Williams – Love My Life – Filmed in 2016 in Shellness, Isle of Sheppey.
Shellness is in the borough of Swale, on the most easterly point of Sheppey. It has beautiful coastal walks and the beach is made up of both pebbles and sand. This is a great video; who would have thought Robbie Williams visited a little corner of Kent.
