Pretty picture and historical of Spitfire
Thank you Crystal
Wow, quite a sight 👍🏽
Jack te Kloot, for whom my parents worked from 1959 until 1979 (when they purchased from him the property they had managed for him) was a squadron leader in WWII and flew spitfires.
His squadron was No 249 RAAF. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. My family loved and respected him very much
Great picture of that plane with such an amazing history, Lynn!
Thank you, Tim.
That looks amazing! Its a great picture. Brilliant to get so close.
I’ve seen them fly over Maidenhead after displays in London, but my photos are hopeless. Lots of disappearing wings and a video of the garden pots!
There is a Spitfire simulator at the Maidenhead Heritage Centre but its for kids.
Thank you Fiona. I’m fortunate to live close to Headcorn Aerodrome, so we get the Spitfire flying overhead quite a lot. Those lucky enough to fly in it usually go over Leeds Castle. The views must be spectacular. I would love to have a go on the simulator – what a pity it’s for kids.
Great photo!
Thanks, Nicola.
